Good afternoon! I’m tuning in a bit later than normal~ I’m sorry for the delay but then again I run this blog so it’s no really anyone’s problem. I didn’t really feel like writing this evening but I do want to keep up my day to day log and don’t worry, I do enjoy it and now I do want to write. It’s not that I do against my will.
Okay enough rambling about that on to our day! We planned on waking up around 9:30 however... when I woke up it was 11:00 :,) Wasn’t really the planning, then again we didn’t really have a planning for today either so it was cool. We had decided since this was our last full day in Kyoto to take it easy, walk the shopping streets and do some last chance shopping regarding Kyoto XD
So we went to get ‘breakfast’ which you could call Lunch by then but who cares~ We’re on vacation everything is allowed ;D We had walked past this crêpe cafe a lot of times located just outside of Nishiki Market in Teramachi street and we really wanted to try it out! It’s not ideal for a lunch but it was delicious! We both had a Banana chocolate crêpe and I know I already said this but here the crêpes you get are filled well. You don’t get 2 slices of banana and that’s it, no it’s actually filled until the bottom and I admire that hahhaaha quality boiz, that’s what we want. Well we also had a drink and took it easy.
We walked the shopping streets some more and entered this big department store. When we entered we immediately stumbled upon ‘Etude House’ which is a famous and really good Japanese make-up brand! The eyeshadows they have there are so freakin’ cute. The colors are amazing and then I’m not even starting about the pigment. I’m no make-up expert but Japanese make-up knows how to treat their eyeshadow XD So naturally I bought an eyeshadow palette!~ Lowkey expensive but not anymore than what you would pay for a Nude or any other well-known brand palette. Jo-anne was also charmed by their glitter eyeshadows and bought a single color one! The glitters in there are crazy XD we swatched some on our hand and got small wet tissues to wipe it off again but the glitters just covered our whole hand hahaha at least it’s legit. I also tried some Primers and foundation on my hand and I don’t know what they use for their foundations but those are moisturizing and have a really great but natural coverage. I was really tempted to buy but I don’t really use foundation and that sort so I held back. Maybe I will later on, I still have 2 weeks to buy stuff in Tokyo XD we’ll see.
Well there was also a really nice jewelry shop and Jo-anne bought a pair of earrings. I didn’t even buy a pair! :D isn’t that great hahaha I already have bought quite a few tsk tsk. Enough to last a few months. Jk jk! I use them for a long time~
So because we hadn’t really had a big lunch we just decided to snack a but more throughout the day until dinner arrived. We walked by a stand who sold Japanese fried chicken and it smelled very nice. We were drawn in by it and decided to buy a serving! It was only ¥220 which is not even €2,- This chicken was cut into small strips and pieces, fried and thrown into a small bag and you got a toothpick like thing to eat it with XD (sorry I forgot the proper word for it but I believe you’ll get it) it was delicious!! I’m sad we didn’t discover this earlier it tasted really good :D So as we were eating that we also remembered we had seen a really nice looking donut place and decided to get tht as ‘dessert’. Like I said this was our last day and we wanted to do some last chance stuff and shopping!! So that’s what we did.
This donut place was called ‘Koé donuts’ and actually used Einstein in the store’s logo! You could choose from many different donuts, from regular ones to fried chicken and bacon. We didn’t get that freaky and just choose a Lemon Meringue (for Jo-Anne) and a chocolate crumble (for Me, I LOVE me some good chocolate) This too of course tasted really good and I can’t get enough from chocolate haha.
So then maybe you’re wondering “Yaru, what about the dinner you were invited to cook together?” Well yeahhhh.... we blew that off. We really didn’t feel like cooking especially because it wasn’t something we were familiar with with cooking and because we just wouldn’t feel very comfortable because we barely knew the boys. Could sound like making up excuses but we’re not obligated to anything and in this situation I don’t believe in doing something what would make you uncomfortable. So we said we had found a place we really wanted to have dinner at and since it was our last day we could only do it tonight. They were fine with it luckily and we had a nice dinner experience!
We went to this restaurant where they had a lot of egg dishes, especially ‘omurice’ which is an omelette filled with rice. We didn’t get that though XD we got a plate with omelette, hamburger steak, fried chicken, salad, rice & corn soup. I never had corn soup before but it tasted pretty fine. The rest of the meal was enjoyable too! And once we were done we went back to the hotel to start packing our suitcases.
We have already bought quite some stuff and needed to pack everything because check out tomorrow will be before 11:00AM~ After everything was packed we chilled, watched some YT and played some games XD. Around 9:30PM Jo-anne wanted a snack so we went to a nearby convenience store and she got some Pocky and strawberry milk! It was all in all a pretty chill day.
Now I wanted to still talk about some stuff I couldn’t get to talk about yesterday hahaha. I honestly can’t remember what I already said in these logs so don’t come for me if I talk about things twice XD just means It really stuck with me I guess. So what we have noticed it that the guesthouse is really quiet hahaha. At some point we noticed we’re just the only ones on this whole floor. Literally, the first time we woke up late we heard guesthouse staff walking around in the hall and once that stopped I stepped outside to go to the bathroom and noticed literally every door was open except for ours. They were airing out the rooms and that was so weird hhahaha I checked some rooms and there was no luggage or whatsoever what could indicate there were people staying there. It had already occurred to me that the bathroom was also awfully empty every time. We only have 2 sinks and 3 toilets and with a floor only for women you’d think it be cramped every morning and evening but that wasn’t the case. It was always only just us two XD but yeah in the end it really was just only us two on this floor! But just now as it’s our last day here we heard girls walk around in the hall and enter rooms (the walls are very thin here) so that means we’re not alone anymore haha but we are about to leave anyways so that doesn’t really matter anymore. It was still pretty nice though to not have a lot of company and have the shared bathroom to yourself every time~
The people that checked in on our floor are pretty noisy. Even if there’s a sign asking to be quiet after 10PM, I can still hear them clearly even now at 12:42AM. The walls a thing and you can hear people walk really well but then again their voices are pretty loud. Maybe a good thing this is our last night too XD
I’m sure I had some more topics but I keep forgetting them as I’m writing about other stuff. I’ll need to keep by thoughts written down as to not forget topics and keep these logs entertaining hahah. Well for tomorrow it will be fine! We’ll ride the ‘Shinkansen’ to Tokyo :) If you don’t know what that is, keep an eye out for tomorrow’s update~ (or ask google if you’re impatient xo)
Good night!
